Jana Lapel has enjoyed a life-long career as a singer, actress, professional clown, radio & TV host, author & speaker, voice teacher & performance coach. Born in Iowa, Jana started singing in church at 3, hosted a radio show at 16 and won voice and drama scholarships at Drake University. She studied voice in Italy, then in Chicago for 4 years with Eileen Deneen of the Fine Arts Conservatory. Jana launched her musical theatre career in Chicago, and later worked in TV, studio sessions, and touring with her nightclub act. While performing in Edmonton, AB, Canada, Jana began her vocal teaching career at McEwan University. Stateside, she taught at Twin Cities Vocal Academy and La Musique Academy in Mesa, AZ, and in her own private studios. Jana's students from 6 to 60 are encouraged to discover the joy of singing, whatever musical style the student chooses, turning the "work" into fun!

Jana recently relocated to Alexandria to be near her family, and she's excited to welcome new students to her vocal studio at Carlson Music!
